The initial assessment typically lasts about 50 minutes. During this time, we’ll get to know your future speller by exploring the motor skills needed for Spelling to Communicate, as well as their regulation needs and anticipated stamina. These insights allow us to set informed, personalized goals for session length and frequency.

We generally recommend 50-minute sessions to allow plenty of time for meaningful practice. Every client is unique—some may need extra time to “warm up their motor” before diving in, while others might benefit from a short movement break partway through. In our experience, 50 minutes offers the perfect balance: enough time to engage fully with the S2C lesson while still leaving room for flexibility and breaks when needed.
